"Hanging from a Thread" is a performance installation exploring power, vulnerability, and connection through the act of weaving. In the piece, Marie and Ian Mwaisunga explores the act of weaving as a meditation. The performance challenges racial and gender narratives, questioning who holds power and how history shapes our perceptions of each other.
Weaving is slow and meditative, much like rewriting history. Through this ritualistic process, Hanging from a Threadinvites the audience to reflect on the invisible threads that connect us, while also asking: can we unravel the past to create something new?
